2013 F350 6.7 Platinum Audible Noise

I have a 1 month old 2013 F 350 Platinum 6.7 diesel. On two longer drives (200 miles roundtrip). I have heard a "honking" noise driving at 65 mph that lasts for about 30 seconds and then stops.

None of my guages or information display shows any problems. My owners manual does not identify any such audible sounds as an alert and/or normal operation.

I am new to the super duty line and am hoping someone can identify what the honking sound is all about.

To me it sounds like the leaky windshield issue.

The Hooking sound is a traffic alert from your radio. Your navigation screen should have a message on what the traffic problem is.

Speaking of the leaky windshield.. mine just started doing that in the last 500 miles. I have 39k on it now. Sounds like a damn train horn.

I have a question for both of you guys with the leaky windshield issue. If you look at your radio antenna, there should be a rubber boot at the base of it. Mine got yanked off at the automatic car wash, and I started having the honking noise at highway speeds until I replaced that rubber boot.

Can anyone else having that issue check to see if your rubber boot is there or not?

This. It caught me by surprise the first time it happened to me. I was like WTF looking all around for the sound. Except mine was honking not hooking. Hey baby . . .

Still Honking

The "honking" noise had disappeared for a few weeks but came back on a trip yesterday. (It was windy and I was driving 65--70 mph). The sound seems to be coming from the driver's side dash area up towars the windshield but I can't feel any draft.

As i cannot replacate the noise everytime I am hesitant to go to the dealer and ask for assistance.

I am wondering if anyone else on this forum has this intermittent issue?

Mine is also coming from the drivers side of the windshield. I cant tell if it is the top corner or bottom corner but no doubt it is drivers side.

I think it might be the rubbery piece at the corners of the windshield cowl that abuts the corner of your hood. They vibrate, especially when have strong crosswinds and while driving highway speeds. It sounds like comes from windshield leaking but is probably not.
