P242A Exhaust Gas Temp.

I have a 2011 6.7 stroke I bought mid last year. This is a work truck I do not pull anything but I do carry a Lincoln sa 200 welding machine and tools in the bed since I bought it. It has 4,400 miles on it now and my check engine light came on yesterday morning I got autozone to read the code for me and it is P242A exhaust temp sensor. Nothing has happened the truck still runs fine but I have read some threads about some trucks saying saying the same thing and also to stop safely and once turned off not restarting. I am on a shutdown right now and will not be able to take the truck in for another week, was wondering if anyone could tell me wether or not I should be driving it like this or should I take off and take it in right away.
