Has anyone blown apart this hose?

http://i1265.photobucket.com/albums/...81494758da.jpg

I hope that you can access that picture. My first attempt at posting a picture.

It is a picture of the black hose that connects to the engine intake. Chunks of it missing. Anyway I did this today under regular acceleration at about 50 when a loud pop came from under the hood. Thought it was the turbo. It looked fine and then saw the hose blown apart. Ford has it now and I hope that the chunks of the missing hose did not make down the intake.

45k great miles! Love the truck! No mods on it as it has plenty of power stock.

Just sharing this in case someone might want to check the clamps out on theirs.

Yes mine did the same thing at 48K, no pieces were missing on mine simply clamp failure. As I understand it this is a somewhat common problem. Mine is stock as well.

yep.. they blow all the time... even do it on the C&C trucks that are detuned to 300hp. I keep an old hump hose and some clamps on my truck so that I can piece it back together until the dealership can order a new one.

I got the truck back yesterday. My dealer had it fixed in two hours. Plantation Ford are great guys.

Anyway he said it was their 9th repair for that hose. He said it seems all are doing it around 40k miles. I looked at the new one and it is junk. I hope Ford comes up with a better band to clamp it with. I am thinking to purchase a spare as I am always pulling a 12k TT toy hauler around 2 hours from home every other weekend.

What was the part number the dealer installed?
Will be interesting to check back in 6 month to see if it has been upgraded.
