dash illumination powering up while parked??

I've had my truck about a month and love it...no probs at all so far.....but here lately i have noticed on a couple of occasions when i go into the garage for a cold beer, i will hear a high pitch and notice the dash gauges are illuminated? This is after it has been parked in the garage for a few hours... Nothing else is lit up, and the interior lights arent on eihter....just the gauge backlights.. they stay on for a bit then shut down?? Only thing i could think of was maybe it was something to do with me leaving the key in the ignition??? either way, what the heck is it doing??

Freaky. Just noticed mine doing it today. Played around its with the key in from my testing.

Well...the last two times I noticed it was with key in....so now I am making a point to take key out and see what happens........either way, wonder what its doin? ......

My 2011 XLT Premium also does this. Just opening the door will being on the gauge lights. They go back off on their own.

Mine does it too its wierded me out a few times if you sit in the truck with it off it seems like it comes on every 5 minutes or so
