ok guys tradeing the 7.3l for a 6.7l

Ok guys me and the old lady found out that i am deploying and looking at a lump some of money ie like 30 grand over the 6 months. Now question to yall is it worth it i have a standard cab long bed 7.3l and we also have a baby on the way so we went to ford and for a f250 4x4 4 door long bed we looking like 50 grand is there any problems with the new trucks

Not many problems just intermittent ones . make sure financially that the baby comes first. Also thanks for your service. Your braver than I am.

I have seen nothing so far with F250s and F350s. Except for a few and i mean 3-4 DEF sending units.

F450 and F550s lose turbos the pickups have no problems that i have seen of to date. There are many guys who use these both as daily drivers and workers that are out of Base warranty-100k+ but they have serviced these trucks religiously. They also report between 18 and as high as 26mpg.

I have driven a few for simple things like complaints of a transmission not shifting properly. Simple update fixes it. These things really HAUL i am a fan of them. If they built a 250 with independent front suspension i would have a green lariat in my driveway.

Update went to ford and looking at a xlt 6.7 with 4x4 on the floor! 4 door long bed im so excited ill have it once i get back from my deployment only financeing 14 grand

Very nice..with a 14k loan your payment isn't gonna be anything.

That is super exciting. They are state of the art and MPG is terrific. Even if I got a lot more than 30k I personally would drive my 7.3 until it gave up or it got real ratty and unreliable before I dropped that much loot on a new truck, but that's just me and I know this isn't the kind of forum for that kind of advice...
Your 7.3 is solid, right?

I know some guys who work as Ford dealer mechanics like ol' Chevy guy and they say the same thing... little if any common issues with these new trucks.
