I'd like them to come on with the interior cabs lights, driving would be a little distracting IMO but I think they'd look really noce

I've always wanted ambient light in my trucks since we got my wife's Fusion back in 2010. I could never find a reasonably priced kit that had more than one color. The Ford kit which is 200, doesn't even install factory like, so I wasn't going to go that route. Finally at Autozone I found this 35 dollar kit. I wasn't expecting much, but for the price it was worth a shot. The LED's have a 3m adhesive on the back, so I stuck them on the downward facing part of the center console that is right over the pockets on the sides. So it lights those up and the whole footwell area. I also took apart the console and ran the wires internally back to under the dash so it looks pretty oem. Total install only took about 1hr which included the distribution block. I have driven with them at night and no interference so far.

The good thing about this kit is it has a control unit that lets you pick the color, the brightness and also you can make it cycle through all the colors and strobe if you want to have a rave in your truck I have driven with them at night and no interference so far (obviously not in strobe mode).

You can also turn it off at the control module. I have mine wired to key on power. I put a distribution block under the dash and powered that from the fuse box in the engine bay off the fuse that you would normally power your mini maxx. So now I have my mini maxx, ambient light and 2 more ports for things I might need in the future all under the dash.

I put the control module to the right of the steering wheel on the bezel. I think the control module looks a little cheesy, so I put it there so it was hard to see.

So far everyone that has been in my truck (especially girls) love it, and some think it's factory.
