If I were to mount mine in my truck of probably go with the driver side pocket of the console by your knee. Use the search function there was a thread about their placement a few months ago

Mounted mine in the center console with external speaker under the drivers seat. Works great.

Anybody run antenna coax through rear window? Looking to change from firestick antenna on truck bed to a roof magnet type.

I ran the coax through the top of the cargo light, and snaked it over to the driver's side and then hid it under the sill plates. A Dremel tool is good for notching out a spot for the cable to run behind the cargo light, then seal it up.

My CB is in the driver side pocket. Ran the coax under the carpet and through the body mount grommet in the driver's floor pan.
