Upfitter Switches Question

So I have a 2012 F350. Every option except upfitter switches. I looked through the search on upfitter, and I have found several articles. However, none really answered my question.

Can I add the upfitters to my truck with just buying the switches? Is it already wired and ready to go?

I asked my ford dealer briefly at first, and they said they could do it for like $700 because it would require parts and lots of labor. When I did my own reserach, it seems like I can my the upfitter module and install it myself.

Am I crazy in thinking its easy?

Upfitter Switches Question

I just added this in my 2012. My dealer said on the the pre 2011 the wiring was there but it's not in ours. You will need a small harness and relay box, I can dig up the part numbers if you need them. I was going to do it myself but didn't want to mess up my dash.

Could you gather the part numbers? I really want to do this.

With the switch module and wiring harness it's easy. I bought mine as a kit from Horizon Ford in Seattle, I'm sure other dealers have the kit too. Little chance of messing up your dash unless you take a sledge hammer to it. For $700, I could fly out to you and install it (including the cost of the switches/harness).

I guess that's why they're called a "stealership" (local one here wants $220 to change fuel filters!)

Yea, tell me about it!

Luckily I did some research all night last night and found what I was looking for! I found a kit from a ford dealer online. So, I ordered it. We'll see! It was only like $150!

And yea, my dealership is usually pretty good, but they can be overpriced on some things!

I walked right in the dealership repair bays and asked to speak with a diesel tech. Then asked him which one of the diesel techs work under the table... Saved alot of $$$$ when I had my 6.0.

I found it on eBay. It was a kit from Schults Ford (Wexford, PA). they sell a kit online, with the switches & relay harness and all the instructions necessary. You can call them too if you need to ask questions.

Tons of info on here on the process, just finished it this weekend and installed a light bar in the bumper using 1 of the pass through wires. Time was about 8 hours, but that included making a bracket for the light bar
