Tachometer temporarely quit working

I was driving down the road today, take a glance at my tach and nothing. I hit the throttle and the needle barely came up and when it did it was bouncing. I pulled over shut it down and restarted the engine and now it works. It was the weirdest thing.

Do you guys think it's a loose connection or just a quirk that these trucks have occasionally? I hate to take it to the dealer to have the dash ripped all to hell.

No the dealer said sometimes this stuff happens with no explanation. Mine only did it once and started working again. If yours keeps on doing it you better take her in! Good luck.

Great help from the dealer huh? Yeah my truck has been doing it pretty much every day I drive it. My rig is an 06 though this was happening with your 2012?

Yes mine was a 2012. Liked the truck but it did some strange things.
