2012 F-450 xlt vent switches inop
One of our shop trucks has an issue with the climate control system. It only blows out the vents, no matter the position/button you press. All the lights work for the position indicator and all fuses are good. Just no change in the outlet.
Any suggestions? |

I do not know about the 2012 trucks specifically. Most of the HVAC doors are operated by vacuum. When the vacuum system fails or is not operating properly the system operates in a default mode. Usually no lights or system alerts occur. The default mode used to be defrost but it could be different on this truck. I would check for pinched, broken, cut, disconnected or loose vacuum hoses. Is the vacuum pump operating?

Just figured I would update this. The root problem was that a pencil had fallen down the dash and locked up the switching motor, located outside of the heater box. It is quite the interesting looking contraption, and it took the dealer 10hrs and a 400$ module not covered under warranty to repair. The dash has to be removed to replace the switching motor/module/spider looking contraption.
