Rear park assist always on?

Hey guys I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who's rear parking sensor was always on and when the lever is in reverse there is no way to turn off.

My dads truck is a job 2 and when the gear lever is in reverse a box pops up and lets you select the RPA on or off, mine does not

Mine is always working when I go to reverse,but like your dad,I have the option to turn off

Good....so its not just a fluke on this end then I guess.

It's because you have mykey turned on. Try using your other key and see if it gives you the option of turning the backup sensors off. Turning mykey off is another subject. I have tried what the manual says to do a hundred times and can't get it to go off using the other key. Really pisses me off too.

I haven't tried anything with mykey,Is that something that you can do a reset on?

Now that is something that I will try when i get my truck back from the dealer....thanks for the idea

That is exactly what was the deal. Thanks alot for the heads up on the mykey garbage

Now I'm just going to have to figure out how to get rid of the mykey crap from the other key.

If only one key is set up with my key then you can use the key that is not set up to clear out/turn off the my key. If both keys are set up with my key then i don't know what to tell you. I went round and round with this when my truck and my fathers were new. His would turn off and mine would not. The dealer was no help and finally after a thread on another site one person mentioned to use the other key. Once it was gone i did not have the urge to burn it to the ground when backing a trailer.

I def feel your pain when trying to back the trailer....annoying as hell.

....if that is not enough fun, put the truck in valet mode. Create a 4 digit pin and the radio volume, speed is limited. No clue as to the back up sensors....but if you ever loan it, it would be the bomb.
