Has anyone replaced a steering wheel on these trucks yet? The one my truck calls out for is BC3Z3600BC which only has cruise control, up and down, setup and reset buttons, but i am wondering if i can get BC3Z3600BA to work. The BA has radio controls where the BC does not. Also the BA is almost half the price as the original one in my truck. Does anyone know which steering wheels are compatible with certain trucks? or have any other info on this. Thanks.
there are a few good write ups on here and the diesel stop form it can be added depends on what trim level you have and some require the clock spring to be changed out as well
I bought part #BC3Z-3600-BA from Gaudin Ford online. It was $200 with shipping and came within a week. This one is black leather with both cruise control buttons (left) and radio/sync buttons (right) included with the wheel. My truck is a 2011 F250 XLT with the polyurethane Steering wheel with only cruise buttons and no radio buttons. So I bought a plug for $11 on eBay to replace the radio buttons. The radio buttons on the new wheel did not work on the radio. Install time was 30 minutes most of which was fumbling around trying to get the airbag off. Will sell the new radio and cruise buttons (used my old buttons for the cruise as they were a simpler version for a simpler XLT computer / info system). They are worth $50-60 a piece on eBay and the old wheel is worth maybe $50 on eBay. All in all it should help absorb the cost and I'm very pleased. Truck has 127k miles and the steering wheel was badly worn. Nice leather upgrade here and reasonably priced in my opinion. Much cleaner than a wheel cover. I wish Ford still used rubber/plastic instead of this short life polyurethane. My 2001 F250 plastic/rubber steering wheel is in perfect shape...
No need for a puller. Get on you tube to find out how the airbag comes off. This is the trickiest part. Be sure and disconnect the battery 30 minutes before. The wheel is held on by a torqx bolt that came off pretty easily.
I know that it wouldn't match the faux wood in a lariat, the main this is would it work in a NON Platium truck?
I plan on wrapping the faux wood on the dash fyi.. So I'm not to concerned with the woods matching.
