My take on the EGR Delete

I pulled the trigger on the tuner, delete pipe and full EGR delete kit! I will start by saying what a PITA the EGR Cooler removal is, the guy on here that said he had the whole EGR delete done in two hours taking his time must be a magician!

I won't get into throwing mud on the vender I got my parts from, I'll just say it was my first order from them and it will be my last, wrong parts, missing parts, you name it and they jacked it up! I have always ordered all my parts from Eric at ID until this latest order, lesson learned, need part call Eric!

I read through three different sets of instructions about five time before I even started so I thought I had a good understanding of what needed to be done so off to the garage I go. The two bolts that seem to give everyone issues were giving me the same problems as everyone else so I stopped and hosed them down with WD-40 and let them sit overnight and the next morning they came right out. The two big pains were getting the lower hose radiator off, a *&%# to get to it and the rear bolt on the cooler that holds the pressure line bracket. DO NOT try to move the cooler toward the front of the truck to get to the bolt like all the instructions tell you to do, get yourself one of these:

Once you see how nasty the intake is you will be happy you did the delete! My truck has 15k miles and the intake was disgusting.

Overall I'm happy that I got it done and the only issue is this:

Need to find a 90 to put in the line, don't look like it will flow very well like it is.

Hey look there is a turbo in there!

The egr delete was really about a 2 hour job.

Maybe I should re-phrase that from magician to skilled mechanic.

I could definitely get it done quicker the next time around, but my skill level is definitely not at the 2 hr level!

I think this will solve my kinked hose issue:

Here is what the intake pipe looks like on a 15k mile truck!

When I did mine at 800miles, I could tap the soot off the piping. Not sure how the truck could last 100k + with that amount of build-up progression.

My thoughts exactly, I do have the block off plates on though, will that save me from the nasty build up?

I have the block plates as well. I'm not sure if it prevents build up or not. Either way, it will be nice to get that useless junk out from under the hood. Anyone hear more turbo whistle after removing the EGR?

I had mine unplugged for about two weeks before deleting it. I didn't notice any difference in whistle.
