Advise on a 2015

Hi all, i am a cummins guy and work on Freightliners and i know that the DEF fluid cannot be tampered with. However i have a good friend of mine who is not mechanically inclined at all and is asking me about the new 2015 6.7 PSD and what he wants to do to it. i have informed him that the DEF system cannot be deleted. My main question is...can it on the light duty personal use trucks or does no one make anything for it cuz epa regs. I own a 03 cummins and the aftermarket world is seemingly endless but i need to get myself abreast on the new stuff so i can direct him in the right directtion. I have told him that he should get a 2012 cuz i know the egr and dpf can be deleted. Thank you for your help guys.

You can delete all emissions related equipment, including the DEF system, on everything except for the 2015 trucks right now. That's not to say you won't be able to delete a 2015 eventually, but I don't anything has been confirmed yet. The 2011-2014 6.7 Powerstrokes can be fully deleted as of now.

Does it require any special registering? I.E. has to be registered as a farm truck only?

In order to delete a 2011-2014 Powerstroke? No.

In order to delete a 2011-2014 Powerstroke and remain off the EPA's most wanted list? Yes.

I was being somewhat sarcastic about the most wanted list. There is no registration process where you can be individually identified if you should decide to delete, but the removal of emission's equipment has been illegal on the federal level for some time now. First there was the CAT and EGR, then the DPF in 2008, and now the DEF in 2011. I don't think it's good practice to pollute by "rolling coal" just for the sake of it, but I don't think it's right to require equipment that jeopordizes the reliability and longevity of a $60,000 truck either. I haven't heard of individual people being prosecuted or fined for deleting emission's systems, so I wouldn't worry about that unless you plan on being stupid and spewing smoke in public. I think people are more concerned about a voided warranty than the likelihood of legal retribution.
