Newb questions

Hey guys before I continue I am here looking for genuine advice and help I don't need smart tail comments about my level of knowledge when it comes to diesel trucks especially powerstrokes. Ok so I have owned 1 diesel prior to my new powerstoke. It was a 2003 cummins I had a lot of work done to it and loved it. Moving on, I just ordered a 2014 F250 Lariat. I have right at 40k to invest into it for performance parts including a lift and wheels and tires which I know aren't exactly related to this section. But I was looking into the Icon 4.5 lift. I will tow lightly with this truck and daily drive. I would like to have good performance and sound that is reliable. I would like to thank all of you in advance.

Wow! 40k to invest in aftermarket? You can build a great truck! I would guess that you could accomplish your suspension, wheels, and tires for under 10k. What else were you looking to do?

If the possibilty of a voided warranty doesn't bother you, I would suggest an emission's delete for the performance and reliability aspect.

Well the warranty wont bother me that much. I mean whatever someone who is well versed recommends outside of the average DPF EGR delete and tuner, exhaust, intake. Maybe some turbo work, headstuds, just around those areas I want a reliable good looking truck that is quick. I am not looking to have some huge horsepower truck and try to drive it daily.

also how reliable are the 6.7's in general i mean my 5.9 took some abuse and ran forever. Just wondering what i am getting into

I would say reliable, but I should probably leave it to someone more knowledgeable to talk about upgrades other than the standard emission's delete. I'm interested to see how your truck turns out. Good luck!

Well, you should be able to have a nice build with that size of budget!

A few suggestions are -
H&S
Flo-pro
Air bags
On board air
Gearhead tunes
Carli products
Titan tank

After these, you will have plenty left for tires, wheels, etc.

These trucks are proving to be pretty reliable, especially the '13-14s.

Yeah. I was about to say if you're set on a 4.5 inch lift, you should check out Carli. I hear they're top notch..

Thanks for the response. Couple questions and again pardon my ignorance. What will the air bags and on board air do for me exactly? Thats more geared towards towing right? I looked at Carli and like what they have. I have heard to stay away from using blocks if I can use new leaf springs. Do you agree? My buddy has the Icon Stage 3 4.5 and I just like the height of 4.5 and love the ride of Icon. But if Carli is the way to go I will look into it! Just want to take my time and do it right. Also not to sounds cliche but I love the sound of the turbo!
