Buying a pre-owned H&S race tuner

I bought a 2012 new and have been satisfied with it for 37k miles now but I really want to delete it. I have a few friends that know of a couple local dealers the have done some warranty work on one that had been deleted and they knew it. Of course they returned it back to stock before roaming it in.

The main questions I have is what to look for if I'm buying a used tuner. I have found one for a good price on cummins forum (I have a 24v also).

I guess all I can recommend is that you look at everything that would be in the box you are purchasing and compare it to what's included with a new one. That way you make sure nothing is missing.

I don't believe that there is any issue between jumping the tuner to new vehicles, it will automatically detect the new VIN # via the ECM. when you install the downloads to the truck, it just asks you if you are the owner of the vehicle to which you just respond "yes"

Only additional thing you will need to purchase is a vin unlock code from H&S ($100) H&S will give you a code that you will need to enter into your tuner as you are installing onto your truck.
All 6.7L powerstrokes require the vin unlock code. Or at least the '11 and '12 do.

I'm not quite sure if the newer H&S race tuners or street tuners still need a vin unlock code?

My tuner did not require the $100 unlock code and I called and confirmed several times with the place that I bought it from that it would still work. They assured me that for the 11 and 12 fords that the tuner came pre-unlocked.

I called h&s and the guy told me if it's a true race tuner I do have to have the vin unlock code. Said if it has a serial# it's a street tuner. If not then it's a race tuner and then will need the code.
I plan on getting a 5" flo-pro with muffler. Gonna leave the last piece off n put a tip on it. Has anyone been near one or have one setup like that or atleast the 5" with muffler. I'd like to know how it sounds.
Plan on leaving the egr on for warranty incase I need to swap back. I've read that I can just unplug it when I delete and that's sufficient. But if anyone knows different or has info on that chime in please. I have read and searched and searched and read. I see differnt opinions on it.

I know it says it was on a dodge but looks to b what I'm looking for. Anyone know why it would have the high sulfur unlock on a race tuner.
