Unplugging or Blocking EGR

Has anyone tried to unplug or block their EGR without using a tuner? I don't want to void my warranty so I haven't bought a tuner yet. But I would be interested in disabling the EGR valve. Is this even possible without a tuner? Sorry if this question has already been answered, I'm new to the forum and this is my first 6.7. I did unplug my EGR on my 6.4 with no problems, (no overheating)

So I ran a little test. I unplugged the plug that controls the vacuum powered actuator. No CEL, but the motor had noticeably less power. That leads me to believe the butterfly valve is spring loaded to stay in the open position(fully open egr was choking the motor). So for this to work I might have to force the lever to keep the valve closed all the time. Hopefully I'll figure this out and it will work with no CEL.
