Rods!

Hello!! So I have been running the spe hot x tune for awhile and Im thinking about putting rods in for safety. What would the cost be in labor for a project like that? Or would it be cheaper to buy a built short block and put it in? The truck is a 2014 F250 it has 1,500 mi and been deleted for all of its life. I feel kinda on edge having someone taking apart a brand new motor like that. What do you guys think?

I thought the newer 6.7's have stronger rods? What have you heard they can handle? What does that tune put you at for power?

The rods I think can handle no more then 500-600 range I believe. The tune I have is 550 Hp tune from SPE. I want to put a 66mm turbo and a cp3 on in the future but I dont want a hole in the block.

Rods will handle 600 if you keep the torque number down

yeah I hear you, i wish they had learned their lesson on the 7.3. The 6.0 was a strong bottom end, along with the 6.4, but to go backwards in the 6.7 is baffling. To design a diesel motor to be such borderline, you know we pay enough for these things brand new. I never bought one brand new, but you know what i mean guys.

Rods are a good thing and like building an awesome house on a great foundation.

Here is an example on needing rods: Las Vegas 6.7L Getting Twins. injectors, studs, stroker cp4 etc - PowerStrokeNation : Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

2013 Lariat F250 CCSB 6.7, 4X4, 3.31 locking rear, 50 Gal Titan Tank, 275/70r18 Duratrac Tires, Edge Insight CTS, Bilstien 5100's all around, Dieselsite fuel/water separators. To Come: Race HS XRT Pro and a hollowed/straight piped DPF/SCR from a donor vehicle

$5,000 for labor to put in new rods that cost $3,000? How many hours of labor would that be?

How much would the labor cost for putting in a $3,500 turbo and a $4,000 mounting pedestal?

I need to learn how to do this sh!t myself because the price for the parts are already pushing the limits of sanity...
