6637 mod

i was helping my brother out with doing the egr delete on his 2012 yesterday and we figured out that my 6637 style filter from my 7.3 will easily fit where the air box is. he's planning on putting one in his truck today.

can anyone see a reason not install one on this truck? he's going to hack the MAF sensor into the piece of PVC pipe between the filter and stock intake boot so that shouldn't be a problem.

He says he definitley hears a difference. I took it for a drive and heard nothing. With dpf delete, egr delete, 5" straight pipe and a 500hp race tune it makes about 5% of the noise of my 7.3 in the cab at idle. With that kind of power it's hard to tell if 10 hp was gained

We cut the stock pipe off top half of the airbox and attached it to the filter with a fernco coupling. His stock filter loked like it was going to be an expensive part so his filter replacements wil at least be cheap and easy.

I was surprised to see just how big the actual EGR was. Removing that opened up a lot of space on the engine.
