Delete Finally Done on my 2013!!!!

After one of the worst winters in 20 years here in the Panhandle of Texas, yesterday was a beautiful 80 degree day, so it was time for the DPF to come off and the delete pipe to go on.

I used the 4" AFE delete pipe, Banks Monster Muffler and Ryder band clamps.

I didn't have time to install the EGR plates (had a belated Valentine's Date with my wife), so I simply unplugged the two electrical connects.

Downloaded the DPF Removed tune on the Mini-Maxx Street Tuner (with delete capability ) and the truck started right-up and hasn't thrown any codes.

Everything made for a nice looking installation and the exhaust sounds fantastic....nice low rumble, authoritative (but not obnoxious) during acceleration and no Drone at any speed. The exhaust is definitely "Radio Friendly" in the cab.

Here are a few pictures:

Looks good! That installation is definitely nice and clean. I can't wait to be deleted!

Looks good. Keep us updated on any...if any.. issues. I'm waiting to pull the trigger on my deletes. I deleted my '10 Ram with no issues, but am having a hard time swallowing the "warranty gamble" on this one.

It's a Banks #53800 and while it is a super-quality component, it is a little pricey!

I planned to go with a Magna Flow but found the Banks on close-out at Truck Accessory Liquidators for $99.00, which was a STEAL!

The main reason that I deleted was to stop the regenerations and hopefully obtain some decent fuel economy.

From what I've read and heard, the 2013-2014 models aren't getting the fuel economy of the 2011-2012 models. This has been my personal experience with my 2013:

My Mileage Stinks! Going to Delete!

I'm going to run a few tanks, now that I'm deleted and will report back.
