Doing DPF Delete & EGR Plates. Questions about DEF: To Drain or Not to Drain ???

I'll be deleting the DPF and installing EGR block-off plates on my 2013 sometime this week, thanks to my "Race Tune Friendly" Mini-Maxx Street Tuner. My mileage stinks and despite numerous trips to two dealers, they just can't seem to do anything about it. We're talking about mileage less than any of the stock 6.4's that I've owned. Anyway.....

For those of you who deleted your 6.7 trucks some time ago, What is the general consensus with the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) situation?

I'm planning on leaving the system "in place" in case I have to go back to stock quickly.

Should I drain the tank & lines?
or
Should I just leave the DEF in the tank?

There seems to be mixed "opinions" on the subject, so I'm looking to hear from experienced individuals who've been delete a while.

Also, I know that the Mini Maxx "turns-off" the DEF pump, but does it also "turn-off" the DEF heater?

Just deleted my 13 this last weekend. I left my def tank in place about 3/4 full. I did the flo pro delete pipe, h&s egr plates, mini maxx and an s&b and it runs great. Mileage on the lie o Meter is already climbing...if I can keep my foot outta it.

I pulled my tank and got it cleaned out as good a possible, the DEF will go bad eventually and clog stuff up, at least what I have heard so I tried to get it cleaned out incase it ever goes back to stock

DEF has a shelf life of about 6 months, Itll go bad in the tank but the lines should be ok, the pump should have a purge feature where it sucks the fluid back from the lines into the tank when you shut it off.

Anyone have a process on how to drain the tank? I'd like to drain mine but not sure how to do it other than syphoning.
