H&S Mini-Maxx #109003 - Will it Work?

I've been a Spartan user for the past 6 years, but since they don't offer a tuner for the 2013-14 Fords, I'm trying to educate myself on what I need to install an H&S Mini-Maxx or XRT Pro, with the option to do a delete.

I've found a "used" Mini-Maxx (Part Number 109003), at a good price. However, the box says that it's for 2011-12 models and the date of manufacture shows it was made in 2012.

Will this tuner work on my 2013?

Will I need to get a software update from H&S and is there a cost for this?

What type of "Unlock Code" will I need to purchase or, since the tuner has already been "Unlocked", will I need to get a code?

That will work just fine just make sure it is not VIN locked. To update your tuner is free and then you will need an MCC unlock to go the rest of the way. PM me if you need more info I have 3 tunes I switch between that have all worked well on my 13 via XRT-Pro

that is not actually a 109003 unit... they quit making that part number over a year ago.

They might be advertising a 109007 or 209007 as a 109003, but that doesn't make it one

So what is the part number for a Mini-Maxx that will work on the 2013 AND will let me do a DPF delete?

How about the correct XRT Pro part number?

Will I need an MCC Unlock code or a High Sulphur Unlock code?

I'm confused, which is normal.

I posed the same question on two other truck forums, as well as the H&S forum and received the same conflicting information.

The 109007 is a Street Tuner that has been discontinued. I'm not sure if it was capable of doing a DPF delete.

The 109003 is a Race Tuner that has been discontinued. It was capable of doing a delete.

The H & S website says: Software Unlock Code is NOT compatible or required for the Street Series Tuner part numbers 109006,109007, 209006, and 209007 and will only work on 2011 & 2012 Ford Trucks.

Their website also says: The MCC Unlock Code is available for 2011-13 Powerstrokes and is ONLY for Black Maxx, Mini Maxx, and XRT Pro tuners.

High Sulfur Calibrations are available from H&S, but their website doesn't list which tuners can accept this calibration or which vehicles it can be used on.

I'm even more confused.........

It WILL NOT WORK!

If it does, is a 109007 or 209007

Call H&S if you want. Or look on their website.

There are vendors who sell later model tuners and call them 109003 "Race" tuners, but that doesn't magically change the firmwear. If your firmwear version is 1.0.2.x, it's a race tuner. If it's 1.0.3.x, it's a Street tuner. Doesn't mean it won't do deletes... but it doesn't magically change the part number just because you have an unlock code
