Thanks H&S for the wonderful update !!

So i was driving home from a late night Redbull run when i noticed my damn check engine light was on so of course i was like WTF !! Im at about 7k trouble free deleted miles running SPE tune. So i got her home and pulled the codes on the CTS and it said P007E undefined code so i was like greeeat my truck is screwed. Sooo of course next step google machine . First thing to pop up was a link to H&S update page to address this code the update is 6.8.12 for XRT users and 6.8.13 for Mini Maxx users.

Well needless to say i downloaded it and while i was at it i went back to H&S tuning all i have to say is wow the super crazy sensitive throttle half way thru a low speed turn and while taking off with cold engine was gone and the default trans aka trans tuning NO is very smooth and holds 4th much longer so as not to bog 5th at 1100 RPM. Ohh and yes i feels alil quicker but i think that is mostly from switching back to H&S tuning my truck always felt alil choked off with SPE but i didnt mind cuz i dont care to much about going fast or MPG just mainly reliability.

So if ya dont have it , get it !! It made me fall inlove with my truck all over again .

I kind of expected this to be a rant about a crapy update that messed something up on your truck. Glad to see that its a good update!

Im usually a stick with what works type of guy and in previous trucks ive never updated my XRTs but ive also never had a CEL come on in one of my deleted trucks . I have a 200+ mile drive tomorrow so we shall see how it does MPG wise.

I'm assuming this update is just for 13-14 models. I looked on the H&S website and didnt see any updates for the 11-12 models. We haven't had one since Aug 5th.

Did you use the automatic updater. Can't get it to work. Physically replaced all folders except two and can't figure out where they go. VEHmenu.MM & hsgrfx.bin duplicates don't exist of t=only these two.

Yes I used the auto updater it worked pretty well, during the process it said it have 48 folders that needed updating but the truck runs well and ive driven just over 600 miles 200 of those miles with 8k on the bumper with no CEL so im happy

I'm kinda scared to update, had a hard time finding a "race" tuner. Don't want to update and somehow mess up my xrt??!!

I'm not trying to steal this thread, but I have a dumb question for you Carli'd6.7. I noticed your in Northern Cali. You must be in an exempt county for smog? I'm also in NorCal, but unfortunately, I'm in the Bay Area. I take it your not worried about your warranty or getting pulled over by the CHP? I would love to install a tuner in my '12.

I live in Lincoln just outside Sac Town and honestly no im not worried about getting pulled over, my neighbor across the street is a CHP officer and he said as long as the trucks aren't "plooming" they don't care and my other neighbor who is a placer county sheriff pretty much said the same thing. As far as warranty I have a delete friendly dealer.
