Spartan Files

I bought a used Spartan tuner back in September for my 2011 F-550. I got it re licensed to me and followed the instructions in the email to install the tunes on the SD card, then installed the files from the SD to the dashdaq. I never tuned the truck because I was waiting for the warranty to expire. The other day I went to set up the gauges and needed to update the dashdaq. While I had the SD card out, I figured I would check to make sure all the files were correct, but the card is blank.
Long story shirt, is the card supposed to be blank with the files installed on the dashdaq, ie. do the files transfer from card to tuner, or are they supposed to be on the card still and just copy to the tuner? I'm trying to tune my truck this week so I'm just making sure everything is in order first. Thanks
