My MPD Turbo Kit!

Christmas came early gents!

For those that don't know, my turbo poopoo'd out on me several months ago and rather than go with another factory turbo I decided to wait it out for the Maryland Performance Diesel single turbo kit. Let me tell you, these guys nailed it! It was sooo worth the wait not to mention driving around in a little Ford Escape at the deer lease

First thing I did was lay out all the parts in my garage to do a little inventory check. As you can see lots of good stuff! The craftsmanship was top knotch through and through, just look at the welds on the replacement exhaust manifolds. Its a very complete kit, even came with a S&B intake with custom intake piping.

I had already taken the factory turbo, manifold, and intake off after I decided to give up on the ford turbo so no pics of that work but the amount of bolts I had to take off and the crowded engine bay made it a long and painful process for my poor hands

After I gutted all the factory equipment I chunked them in the corner of the garage only saving the gaskets that could be reused. The MPD kit uses a plate to mount the pedestal over the top of the factory turbo manifold. You can see the plate installed in the attached pic. Next up is the pedestal and exhaust manifolds. These I pre-assembled out side of the truck since there were to bolts that would have made the cab on install I was doing very difficult. The fully assembled pedestal and manifolds went in with no trouble at all. Pic attached.

After that I got the turbo set in and did some test fitting with the new tubing to make sure I had the right position before I installed it. This took a couple attempts but sure enough, I got it.....

I then started piping the kit and installed part of the S&B intake. So far all I can say is that I am very impressed with how easy this kit is coming together. More to come as I ran out of time. Too much good college football!
