Tuning question

After searching the forum alot of yall are running either the powerlabs stuff or the SPE stuff. I tried the SPE stuff today and really didnt like the trans at all the early shift 2-3 would make it nearly impossible to tow so i put it back to my H&S tuning with no trans tune. Is it ok to run a tune with just the stock trans tune or is it not recommended ??
