Snow Performance

Anyone using water/meth? Thinking about doing this for fuel economy and lower EGTs. If you have done this, what kind of issues do you have with it?

I am interested in this as well and for the same reasons. Better mpg and lower EGT's when pulling.

I'm curious where they inject the water/meth? I would assume that anywhere after the inter cooler would be fine, but not per turbo or pre inter cooler?

There's at least one case of bent rods due to addition of water/meth injection

Why would the meth cause it to bed a rod? That makes no sense.

water meth

I put it on my 08, works great, the new one out is the one I got it has three injectors that you put into the pipe going into the throttle body. they have to put them on the top so the water doesn't go down the pipe on lower boost. it sprays in three different stages, and you adjust it depending on the boost.

the problem is..... I got it to get better fuel mileage.. and it does. about 2-3 miles more a gallon.. but the cost of wiper fluid is $2 a gallon.. but they don't sell -32 wiper fluid in Los Angeles..soooo I can buy methanol at $25 for 5 gallons and mix it with distilled water at $1 a gallon..

buuut the tank hold 7 gallons and you go through that in 150 miles, I have the titan full tank so I would go through 3 fill up on the snow kit on a tank of fuel..

they said to mix the water and meth 50-50 sooo

that's $17.50 for meth
$ 3.50 for water
$21.00 total

x3= $63.00 per tank

I don't see any savings here..

so I now only used it on a long haul up a hill when the egts would go up..

I wish I didnt spend the money. you guys in more friendly areas other than California can buy wiper fluid it may work out for you..

also you don't have to mix it 50-50 you can mix it 30-70 or even just water, but the more water you and the less miles you get..
