H&S/EGR delete

In the Minimaxx installation manual, it said if you don't do an EGR delete, you must unplug the EGR system. Is this true? If so, how do you unplug the EGR system??

In the same manual it tells you which 2 harnesses you need to unplug. IIRC there is an orange colored plug on the egr and there is an orange colored plug under the front radiator hose. Look thru the manual again. It clearly shows which two.

you might have an old manual, originally the manual didn't include it, then people started having egr valves fail so they changed the manual. just go to H&S's website, there are instructions and pictures.

sorry to hack into this thread but i have recently returned my truck to stock and have a check engine light for, egr valve stuck open, i also missed the part in the manual where you have to unplug the butterfly valve. So my question is. is that butterfly valve considered an egr valve??? cause im trying to find it online to replace it. (if thats the troublesome part) but on fordparts.com the egr system only includes one valve and thats the one on top of the passenger side of the truck. i need to get this figured out and fixed before the end of the month or i will no longer be able to get the Nox sensor update on my truck which is the reason i returned to stock in the first place. please help!

I never unplugged my EGR, will that cause any problem? I haven't been deleted that long tho, 1500 miles maybe. I have a EGR delete kit sitting here to be installed sometime tho.
