I think you will find most here saw a difference when going with the S&B air intake it. Its the route we recommend and what we use on our trucks as well.

I went with the afe stage 2. I've ran them on a few of my other trucks. No prob

Definately better sound. More throttle response. No mileage difference on mine. I'm suing s&b.

Truthfully its better when your are deleted to get a cai. Before I tuned I had the s&b for a month. I only gained .2 mpg and could hear my turbo spool up a little more. So its only worth it if you are tuned. Jmho

You get more growl in cab from the intake than you do turbo whistle although you gain a little bit of that. If you're running the S&B be sure to leave the intake plexiglass lid off for the best performance/mpg gains.

Not to sure about mileage. I've never been to concerned with it. It is a 3/4 ton truck, mileage is what it is. You do get a slight increase in sound in cab and a little better throttle response. All in all, it's worth the extra $$$
