EGT probe install

Hi to everybody, new to the forum and Ford Powerstroke . Former Dodge guy...LOL
I just bought 2012 F250 Diesel 4x4 6.7 engine and I always monitored the EGT when towing my 13000# TH , but somehow look like very complicated to put EGT probe on the Ford. Anybody can share pictures or ideas how to do it simple way,if any actually exist ? Plus any thought on Edge GTS for this truck or any better controller ?

Most people that are reading egt's have used an H&S tuner to tune the truck. This lets you disable the egr. Once you do that you can install blockoff plates which let you read the temp using a probe in the block off plate.

You can install an EGT gauge such as an Autometer or the such, but its not as easy as the Cummins or any of the traditional V8 diesels since the 6.7 is a reverse flow design the exhaust manifolds are inboard. You can do it but it will require the removal of the upper intake manifold and air intake, it will be tight but doable.

KEM has a tapped egr tube, depending on what gauge and probe you are using it might work. KEM 6.7L Ford EGT Kit - KEM Racing, LLC

That's pretty sweet! Never seen that one before. Wonder how the Stealership would view something like that in the case of warranty work?

That look like a good solution, but I would think this should work with EGT probe for any gauge/monitor then ? Or am I wrong ?

Maybe somebody can help me to understand better where those EGT probe are from manufacture. I hook the Edge CTS and it is showing 4 EGT probes. Actually one I can see when open the hood on right pipe when facing to the engine . Is that probe taking pre turbo EGT ? THX

The 6.7 has no EGT probe, what your seeing is DPF temp probes and one EGR temp probe. If you do and EGR delete you can pull one of the temp probes out of the DPF and use it in the EGR ( only works with H&S EGR delete kit and Minimaxx ) or use an after market EGT kit and any EGR delete kit that has a 1/8" NPT port or drill and tap your own if it doesn't.

Thanks, I don't think I can pull out EGR in Cali, but now I do have more understanding what Edge is actually showing. I just saw those two pipes, one with EGT probe and thought they are pre turbo. But if I understand rightly they both are for EGR and taping them will not give me the pre turbo EGT.
