EGT help

I just deleted my 2012 powerstroke with a mini max. I put a 4in exhaust with muffler and unplugged the two wires under the hood. My question is how can I get my EGT to read on my mini max? My only guess is that I have to fully delete the truck.

Also is there a problem with running my truck the way I have it?

You have the get the egr block off plates for the long pipe on the egr. Make sure to get the one w a bung. Unbolt the egr pipe that goes from your exhaust manifold to the egr. Put the big plate on the egr and the smaller plate w the bung on the manifold. Next you need to take one of the egt probs from the factory exhaust off and put it on the plate w the bung. Then you want to find the wire from an existing egt prob from the egr, unplug it from under the air intake of the engine. Next plug the egt you put in the plate into the one you unplugged. Last set your minni max to factory egt and you should be good.

EGT help

Thanks for the help! So I guess I have to drain all the coolant and put the block off plates on and remove the whole cooler from the truck?

Is there a problem with running it unplugged and a aftermarket exhaust or will I damage anything?

with the block off plates, you do not have to drain coolant. if you do a full egr delete, you do. block off plates are just fine.

you will be fine running them unplugged, I believe instructions say you have to have those two orange plugs unplugged, but you wont be able to monitor egt until you do what the other guy said with the probe and blocker plates.

EGT help

Thanks guys. I think they sold me two kits and they had some of the same parts in each kit. I am new to this and don't want to mess it up. I believe they sold me a egr delete kit along with an EGT kit.

Just so I understand, if I do not want to drain the truck, I can just install the EGT kit and use the probe that was in the exhaust and then just unplug the two wires? I think the EGT kit came with 2 plates.

There is another egt prob on the egr, follow that ones prob wire and unplug it. Then plug the egt prob from the block off plate to that connection. Leave the other on unplugged. Then set your tuner to factory pyro, or you will get wrong temp readings and if your defuel is set it will defuel all the time.

Like said above, all you need is the blocker plates, no need to drain the coolant, and if you take your time and have a beer its a 30 min job. Just do it when the engine is cool so you dont twist off a bolt
