Do we still live in a free country?
At random when I come upon a Prius with an Obama sticker on it my practice has been the following: 1. Roll coal (best if windows are open!) 2. Merge hard and brake (sending them to the ditch is the goal) NOW I'M GOING HUNTING FOR THEM! The alarming part of this settlement is the EPA can and WILL go after the dealers and then you guessed it US. They say right in the suit they have all rights to edge records and registrations. Don’t think for a minute they won’t. These rat bastards have no problem spending hundreds of thousands of our tax dollars chasing down each violator (US)! Let them come for my stuff. They’re going to have a hard time looking for my missing emissions crap with bullets whizzing over their heads! |

I like to piss off prius owners too. Pretty funny.

The EPA isn't all bad. You have to admit, it's a lot nicer in the more populated areas now that there are decently stringent emissions regulations. For the vast majority of vehicle owners, those control systems are left in place. So in reality, the amount of damage from the few tuned vehicles (diesel and gasoline both) is minimal. But unfortunately, it's very easy to see a diesel that has been tampered with, and it makes them a prime target. It's kinda like how everyone hates the oil companies because it's the only thing you buy where you watch the price roll over as you buy it. Before anyone accuses me of being a troll, i'm really not. My last vehicle had an external wastegate with a dump tube. Not three feet between the head and the atmosphere. I'm also a Petroleum Engineer, so the EPA and various other Eco Mentalists have ruffled my feathers more than a few times. Matter of fact i just had some moron at my door spouting misinformation and general bull**** about fracing, trying to get me to sign a petition to ban it. It took a lot of self control to not jump him in my front yard. I'm just trying to say that it's not completely unreasonable. Last edited by brstanle; 01-18-2013 at 09:58 PM. |

Elections have consequences. Big consequences. Hey..I like Priuses. I like electric cars. I hope everyone in a metro area buys one so diesel/gas can be less expensive. But, I also like my bada$$ Superduty 6.7...and I don't like them telling me I can't take things off of it or add things to it.
This is America sadly....you won't be able to buy a 16oz big slurp....can go eat marijuana twinkies on your way to work....and cannot remove a pipe from YOUR truck...the one YOU pay for..... Whatever. I am not tuned...but I sure do get jacked up when nanny state starts messing with my right to do so... |

Hey they're not saying you can't all together, they're just saying you can't if you want to use their roads

You do realize that removing emissions equipment is against federal law, correct? I'm no apologist for the EPA, however if a company is building something that that allows its purchasers to openly defy federal law, it's conceivable that eventually the government will act and shut it down. Examples of these I can think of:
As for this lovely character above "rolling coal", I sincerely hope you encounter a knowledgeable officer in one of your smoke-blowing acts of douchery. You make every diesel owner look bad, for not only acting like a douche on the roadway, but for wasting diesel fuel, and driving recklessly. "They" (the government) aren't going to come to your house and make you put on the emissions. You will likely receive a summons from your state AG's office, then if you do not fix the required equipment, you will receive a fine. If you refuse to pay the fine, the government will put a lien against your property and potentially seize it after a certain period. You likely won't lose your home due to Homestead Act Protections, but will have wage garnishments (including interest) until the fine is paid in full. If you shoot at the .gov, they are going to win. If you survive the encounter, the only thing you will have to worry about is which prison gang you want to join. |
