I had a few guys asking about the egr block off plates and what they looked like and where they are installed.
Here are some pics of the block off plates installed.
As you can see the plates replace the longer egr pipe that goes from the manifold to the egr.
The plate that bolts onto the egr port is the solid plate.
The plate that bolts onto the manifold port is the one with a bung which you install one of the temp probes from the exhaust.
In the first picture you can see a temp probe that is installed in the shorter egr pipe. If you follow that sensors cord underneath the air intake inlet, you will find its plug, this is where you unplug that sensor, and plug in the sensor you installed into the block off plate.
In the first picture you can also see a orange plug on the left side, this is the egr valve plug which you must unplug after you install the block off plates as well.
There is one more orange plug which is the egr butterfly valve plug which is under the air intake inlet that needs to be unplugged as well after installing the block off plates.
I hear that the block off plates are getting harder and harder to find now that H&S has stopped making them.
I was wondering if H&S would release the dimensions and specs of the block off plates, that way someone could have them custom made by a machinest or maybe even another company could start making them.
they are 80$ for two simple plates and you have to sign a waiver.... this sucks. i think im just gonna buy the universal pyro probe that will fit in my sinister kit
I am pretty sure I have forgotten to unplug the 2nd orange plug(butterfly valve). Have been running the truck for a few weeks now. Have I damaged anything? No codes. Trucks runs fine.
I mistakenly thought that the stock pyro coming off one of the EGR tubes was the butterfly valve.
When your standing in front of the truck look right behind radiator just to the right of the middle of the radiator. Its right above the fan belt. Its kind of a pain to get to.

I have the block off plates from street diesel performance. I also have the spartan tuner. Neither of them show in the instructions to unplug that. I wonder if I am supposed to or not?
Did you notice your exhuast note change after doing this? I just did exactly what you did to read EGT's and I swear its a tab bit louder on 1/4 throttle acceleration. I would guess that removing the long pipe and blocking it off with the pyro made it a tad it louder?
hey im trying to install the plates im having problems getting to the bottom bolt in the vally what did you use to get to those 2 dam bolts did u take off the coolant lines or what
I used several long ratchet extensions and a swivel. Be carefully not to strip the heads off the bolt. We did that on my buddies and we had to use a bolt extractor

Ok if I am reading this right. I do not have to remove the cooler just the two pipes and I will be ok. After warranty I could then remove the cooler. I bought the block off plates and EGT plate. Is that picture supplied or is that a factory one?
You do not have to remove the cooler to delete it. You will need to take the longer pipe off and put the two block off plates on. The block off plate with the pyro will go on the bottom, not on the egr.
FYI balla6.7 I left my butterfly valve plugged in for a thousand miles or so as well. When I returned my truck to stock its gave me a egr valve stuck open code. I'm guessing the motor is burned out from cycling or something. Not saying yours is as well but since your mini maxx is shutting off the egr system you won't get a code until you return to undeleted or stock tunes. I posted in another thread about how to fix the problem. Since its self inflicted I would like to repair myself versus taking in for warranty
Put my sinister plates on and used the h&s pYro...connected it and it only reads 32 degrees any one have this problem is it cuz I'm not using a pyro from the stock exaughst?? Need help lol
Couple questions about this. Will this kit allow me to see the egts while using an edge insight cts. I have an XRT Pro so i dont have gauges like the mini maxx. also i wont have any issues installing this and unpluging things if i dont have the monitor yet right?
