H&S- tranny acting funny at take off
I just installed my H&S MM. It's set to DPF preset until my exhaust comes in next week. I set it to hot and took it for a test drive after installing. When I pulled out of the gas station, I had the TC off and was turning into the street and mashed the gas to the floor. The rear end broke loose and it took off and ran through a few gears and acted like it should. Then all of a sudden when it shifted to 3rd I believe my truck downshifted hard to second and my rpms went sky high. I let out of the gas and then eased back into it and it did fine. Tranny acted like it was lost for minute. Does this have something to do with the anti-slip? It's never done this stock. Anyone else ever had it happen? I'm running stock tranny settings right now.

Did you do a tranny relearn like the book says?

No I didn't. And maybe I didn't look close enough in the book but I found very little in the book that goes into detail as far as a step by step install. Yeah the install was simple but I was more worried about what all precautions I was suppose to take before loading anything so I didn't fry my computer in my truck. I will see if I can find what u are talking about. I have heard several people describing the process on here.

You need to do the tranny relearn you can't just load the hot tune and go out and stomp on it and expect the tranny to know that hey I have 120 more hp so shift accordingly.
0-80 at 1/4 throttle then slow back down 0-80 at 1/2 throttle then slow back down 0-80 at full throttle (the tires will likely break loose for the first 20mph) That should get you fixed up man. |
