egt readings on h&s tunes?

i orderd the egt kit but for now what are you guys seeing for exhaust temps with driving on the different tunes. i know the pyro 1 is all crazy numbers, were are those numbers coming from? i hope there way off, i just dont wanna run a tune b4 i get the egt readings and be to hot. are egts safe on no power tune? i cant imagin them getting to hot on that tune even if u were getting on it right? thanks guys, Cory

If you installed the tuner with no EGT kit, you probably have the pyro source set to Factory Pyro. Those readings are completely false. Change the pyro source to H&S the reading will go to 0. When you install the EGT kit, switch the source to Factory and you should see around 300 degrees at idle and 400-600 at highway speeds.

ok thanks alot, so its safe to run no power tune without the egt kit for now and not worry bout exhaust temps?

I would say its safe, I ran mine that way for a week not deleted then ran without monitoring EGTs for another week until my EGT kit came in.
