Insane Pyro 1 with mini maxx
Just installed my mm and was attempting to do the transmission relearn process in the hot setting as the manual states. Drove about 2 miles never got above half throttle and it started chirping doing defuel. Looked at Pyro 1 and it was at 1800 and climbing fast. I pulled over and turned the truck off. Turned the key to on position but didn't start it just to watch pyro numbers. It went all the way to 2600. Let the truck sit for and hour and it still says pyro 1 at 2587 and pyro 2 at 140.
My truck is deleted with 4" pipe and I have all the sensors that were in the dpf pipe disconnected. I also disconnected the 2 egr plugs. Any ideas? I thought there were no pyro readings unless I did the egr delete and added a pyro to that kit? |

Yeah, until you get an EGT kit, set the pyro source to H&S Pyro

The H&S is probably set to Factory Pyro Source, you'll get crazy readings even though there are not any sensors connected. Mine did the same thing, setting to H&S will read 0

Thanks Jim. Also your advice on the pipe removal was spot on. Thanks again.

Glad it worked out. That DPF is ridiculous, isn't it?

Lol exactly, especially when by yourself on the ground!

Learned how heavy that dpf was too, on my own, on my back with no fair warning. That took a minute or two of thinking to figure that out, after the fact. |

is it safe to drive the truck with no pyro readings?
|

Why wouldn't it be? As long as your not pushing your truck harder then you should be. There are millions and millions of diesel owners without EGT readings.

should i have the incorrect egt readings on pyro 1 defuel the truck or just turn off defuel and swith to h&s pyro for now?
