What is the fine for DEF delete?

I was just wondering....
If you happened to get pulled over by a state trooper and he notices the big shiny exhaust tip (on a DEF equipped truck)..... then looked under the truck and see's that the particulate filter is gone...
What would be the fine for the illegal modification? I'm sure it is going to differ from state to state, but how do you find your state laws on this?

I see you live in Ruston. I live near Lafayette. I have a friend that's a LA state trooper. I asked him and he was clueless. He informed me that as long as it had an inspection sticker, it's all good. If you go as far as asking any generic trooper off the street, I'm sure you will get the "Any modifications" answer.

I'm not too worried about this in Louisiana...LOL. But, I do travel...

I haven't had my SD very long, but I got the whole setup to delete everything. Me thinking ahead, I thought I would go get an emissions inspection then install all the stuff so I could have at least 2 years to play before I had to bring it back to stock for reinspection. I go to the nearest inspection place, wait patiently and the tech comes up to me and hands me my registration and says, diesels don't require emissions inspections in VA. Inside, I was all WOO HOO..... but I quietly went home and installed everything

Haha same here. I live near Slidell and order my delete 2 days ago. I could care less here but out of state I worry a little. I thought I would be worried in Florida until I saw a jacked up 350 6.4 with like a 7" top with Florida tags. I guess he doesn't worry much.

funny you say that, I didn't really notice before until I got my SD, I'd say over half the diesels I see around have gigantic sooty stacks......AND I LOVE IT!!!!

Here in Indiana, we don't have emissions on diesels either, unless they are 08 and newer. But have had buddies pull up with an 08 deleted and emissions gave him his waiver and he was on his way. Luckily, I just moved to a county that has ZERO emissions requirements.

I will tell you that I have been pulled over for various stuff since my 6.0 has had zero emissions stuff. They were more worried about me towing over legal without a permit or running red fuel than anything else.

No emissons inspections in florida. Not sure how they can enforce emissons on a truck with a tag from a state that doesn't require inspections.
