Who has played with MCC tuning?
I have spent a few hours playing with mcc tuning on my truck today. So far the results are exactly what I wanted.
I changed the 2-1 down shift at low throttle to happen at a lower speed to help make it a little smoother. So far it seems better. I changed the throttle map and torque maps to make the throttle response a little more like the cummins engines I'm used to. I lowered the max boost level from 32 to 28 psi to help the turbo last a little longer and help prevent some plastic piece down stream from the turbo from melting. I'm not exactly sure where this piece is, but I don't want it blowing out while towing like has happened to a few people due to high compressor outlet temps. And best of all, MY EXHAUST BRAKE WORKS NOW!!! I tweaked some of the settings on the exhaust brake map and in the vane control maps. Now the exhaust brake actually slows the truck down a little. I don't know what I'm going try next, but this is fun! Who else has played with this stuff? What did you do? |

I've never messed with it yet but what you did sounds like some good improvements. I may have to try them soon. Keep us updated how you like your changes

I think I'm getting ready to change my 2-1 down shift also. And what did you adjust for the exhaust brake function? Just the exhaust brake torque map? How high did you raise those numbers? Mine are all set at -74 right now.
