The Spartan Phalanx (DashDAQ) can be setup to run navigation. There is an additional fee for the navigation add-on. If you are interested, email sales@spartandieseltech.com.

Why would you want to? These devices have enough problems on their own w/o trying to cross over into a whole 'nother field.

I can't believe how many stupid things these GPSs do. I sure as heck don't want some GPS controlling boost or trans shifting. And vise versa, because when the GPS crashes (and it will) it'll take the whole house of cards down with it.

If you want a jack of all trades, stick with a smartphone, but let the tuners just tune the engine/trans.

The DashDAQ has that option. It isn't something standard. I haven't heard of any failures to date. It's not common for people to add that option on though. It's a $150-200 option through Drew Tech and most people don't bother. From what I've heard, the only downside to the GPS add on is that you can't go from the GPS directly to the gauge screen. You have to exit the GPS completely to access your gauges. I don't think that's really a bad feature but more of an annoyance. I rarely run my gauges while I'm driving and don't see them as being necessary unless I'm data logging or running the truck hard (tune testing, drag racing, etc.). Others prefer them on at all times and I guess I can see where it could become annoying.

I have the GPS added to my spartan. but I also have navigation in my truck and carry a garmin with me as well. add that to the nav on my phone and I dang sure wont get lost, lol. I have only used the dashdaq nav one time since I paid for it. horrible layout and not user friendly. I suggest the garmin only because the factory navigation suggests horrible routes and tends to try to carry me through the projects in every major city!

When in doubt, mash on it....and don't stop till you smell sh!t or hear glass break!
