Ok guys I just wanted to warn you guys on installing a EGT probe plate.. I have changed 3 already and had problems on one of the trucks..
The 2 trucks that I changed the plate came out fine ,but on one truck I had problems ,, both stock bolts broke off and it was a pain in the *** to get them off ... well not really because I have a welding machine...
The only thing I did diffrent was that the 2 trucks that unbolted fine were cold and had been sitting there in my garage all night.. The third truck that had both bolts broken off ,that truck was hot and running for a while and as soon as the engine was shut off I opened the hood and started to unbolt and bamm one turn and the head broke off( same for the other)...
The fix was easy I went to the store and bought 2 nuts and welded them to the left over bolt and then I took them off.. ohh and bought 2 new blots also
This can be a pain if you dont have a welding machine,,, I tried a vize grip, channel locks ,but the room in there is limited.. and welding was my best option
The brand of the aftermarket EGT plate did not have anything to do with this..
