New To The Fords Need A Little Advise

Have a few questions and i know you guys know what your talking about. First ill start by saying I know several people ask this but i just recently bought a brand new 2012 6.7 and from going to this from a tuned cummins i wasnt too happy with the fuel milage. I know tuning the new truck will distroy my warranty but im wondering if there is anything i can do for fuel milage? Ive looked at tuners such as Spartan/H&S but not sure what to do? I just want better fuel milage. Sound would be nice too.

What year Cummins did you have? Did you hand calculate mileage with it? The reason I am asking is that my experience is a little different. I had a tuned 5.9 that would get roughly 15-17 around town and up to 20 on the highway, hand calculated. My 11 SD gets about a mpg less around town but can get over 20 on the highway stock.

I believe tuning has helped with mpg gains in the 6.7.

I had a tuned 06 5.9 cummins that i just got rid of a week ago and picked up a 12 SD. I bought a demo truck and it has 3500 miles on it. I did a small road trip this weekend to flagstaff and averaged 19mpg. I am averaging 17mpg in town and it has been 112* for the last week. I am really happy with what im getting.

The dodge got pretty much the same as i am getting now with the stock ford. vI do miss the dodge though. Had it so long it was a part of me....

Seems like some people get what I would consider great mileage on these stock 6.7L's, but I got HORRIBLE mileage in stock form (as I know others do as well). 12 around town and 14.5 on the freeway. I drove it like a grandma trying to suck down as little fuel as possible. I just did a DPF delete, intake and H&S programmer and have picked up 4mpg average, while driving it harder then I usually do. I'm sure after I start driving it easy like I use to, It will get even better.
