Tune needed for CAI and DPF back exhaust?
Called one of the vendors the other day, to get a quote on shipping to Hawaii (I hate all you on the mainland with your cheap shipping). I was interested in getting a cold air intake, and DPF back exhaust. I was informed that I would need a tuner if replacing these parts, is this true? This is my first diesel, so I am in new territory here. I guess I will spend my money on suspension, tires and rims instead.

Yes you see best gains by a tuner tying everything together.

Sure you see better gains but you don't NEED a tuner to change your air box and DPF back exhaust.
