MBRP DPF delete install question
I installed my DPF delete downpipe back exhaust on Wednesday and the intructions didn't mention which way the exhaust gets installed. Initially I thought having the MBRP logo going left to right with the flow of exhaust would make sense but when you look inside the muffler, there are a bunch of little scoops that stick up. If you look from the other direction the "scoops" look a lot smoother and less restrictive, so thats the way we installed it.
Does anyone have a definitive answer on this? I'm wondering if this is what may be causing a high Pyro reading. |

High pyro could be the tune you're running. Not sure really. What level tune are you running?

I'm running the 6.7.17 tune and have had it on "no power" since the install because of the problems.

Any tuning running more HP than stock will produce higher temps. How you drive with those tunes also affects the temp. Do you have a heavy foot? Lol

Yes I do usually. But the Pyro never read anything crazy like this with stock exhaust. Once I installed the exhaust the programmer was acting crazy from the beginning so I never got into the throttle. And I'm currently so worried about the temps I'm driving like there is an egg on the pedal.
Any ideas about exhaust direction for the MBRP muffler? |

I don't know what to tell you. Did you buy the EGR blocker plate kit as well? If so, take that probe out and try anther probe from the DPF. That is not right at all.

What kind of temps are we talking about? Is there a huge fluctutaion while driving? You have to realize that more fuel = more heat nad cylinder pressure. what level of HP is the tune adding? I dont know what the 6.7.17 is rated at.

All those scoops do is quiet the exhaust depending on which way you install the muffler. If you installed them with the air flowing over the bumps that would be the loudest. With the scoops facing forward should be quieter.

Sgt. Do you have the blocker plates for monitoring egt? Or did you just turn your sensors off for pyro??
