H&S max psi?

Just curious what you other guys are seeing . My minimax shows peak at 37psi That's as high as I can get it.
Thats With trailer loaded right up and pinned.
But it seems like it spikes to 37 as soon as i pin it then levels out at32.

Also curious about the turbo. When I stop at a light it will quiet the exhaust down for a second , then go back to the rumble. And I can here the turbo whistle wind down. Is that just the VGT cycling? Doesn't happen all the time.

Also seems like the turbo and engine is louder at first start up when cold . I assume just due to oil temps? Kinda sounds like the old 6.4 when it went into regen mode.

Btw not saying anything is wrong I'm just curious as to figuring out this new engine . And having alot of fun and money spent trying hahhaha

I think that when it first starts it closes the vanes on the turbo almost to the point of back pressure. By putting back pressure on the exhaust it assists in warming up the engine. You'll notice that it cycles doing this, but only when it's not up to full operating temp. I've also seen that when it does this, I get 1 psi on the turbo.

Good info. I think I read something about that. Supposed to help with warm up. But it will do it at operating temp.
I also disconnected the wastegate solenoid to see what happens (trying to get some more boost, lol, ) but everything is the same. Haha

As for boost numbers, mine spikes to 36 then tappers off to 31PSI.
I have also heard what mor4wd has said, along with it happens more often when your A/C compressor is running cause of the slightly more load on the motor.

If thats true, then Trucks with Dual alternators would prolly be doing it even More due to the alts putting a Minor load on the belt them selves...

I'm sure when the trucks First started the batteries Need a Little juice,Due to the Lights and accessories Drawing Juice Truck being cold and all......

Just Thinking out loud Mind Ya :~)
