2011 250/350 vs commercial 350-550

I know the pickup SD's get 400/800 however if you spend the extra money for an F550 they reward you with an 82MPH speed limiter and only 300hp. Is there any way to have the pickup calibration flashed onto the computer or do you have to get custom tuning?

Do not believe so....I think the 6.7s in the F450 and F550 chassis cabs are running a different type of induction as well. May even be a slightly different turbo too.

I would imagine they are identical engines, save for tuning. Why spend extra manufacturing money when all you have to do is change the tune. The HD's were always described as detuned for longevity, but we all know they take the same tuners.

450 and 550 have a totally different turbo setup.

Well that sucks, thanks for the info guys! The turbo lag in our 550 is ridiculous. Hit gas pedal, count to 5, then you take off. An equally equipped 6.0 would spank it 6 ways to sunday.

our 2011 f550 had major lag, we got the firmware upgrade and its better but it still sucks.. i wish we had the regular tune.... not the commercial tune..
