Tuner Footprints

Hi Guys, I have read several threads on this issue and understand that when tunes are applied to the ECM, you cannot removed all traces of the tune. I had an 06 with an Edge Attitude II. The way it installed it appeared to me the ECM was "jumped" with their wiring harness to a module supplied with the monitor.

Having said all that, does a setup like this leave footprints? http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/ima...lies/dunno.gif

My dealer was unable to see any footprint of the Innovative module.

Do you know if the system Edge used for the 06 would work o the 6.7? If doable, wouldn't this ease concerns with warranty issues for those that want to remove the DPF for better mileage?

What I should have said, Would the use of a "jumped" module with the tune be a solution?

I highly doubt the 6.7 was built without easy to find parameters that Ford can see to help determine if a tuner was on the truck.

Just doesn't make sense with today's technology not to build in plenty of avenues to detect any tuning.

The real question is...will your dealer look / care? We know that many don't with the 6.4, but if you blow an engine up, Ford will send an engineer and at that point the warranty is up in the air.
