6.7 questions....
I am sure the answers are burried in the forum somewhere. And I searched real quick but soooo many different topics came up I figured I would just ask
![]() Traded in my 6.0 for a new 6.7 this weekend.... I really miss the sound of that straight pipe 6.0 but I am aware that I won't get that sound back and keep my warranty on the new truck ![]() My questions are how does the MRRP 4" Filter back systems sound? Will the truck be able to tell the dealer that I changed it if I go in for warranty work? (obviously I would have to put stock back on before it hit the dealer) Any other 6.7 Mods I can do that the truck won't rat me out for doing? I heard programmers leave trace so no go there ![]() Thanks for any help, I will miss my 6.0 after the guys on here got through helping me understand my mods that thing screamed.... |

A filter back exhaust will not change the noise at all.

I'm going with the MBRP 5" DPF back.... maybe that extra 1" will make a little more noise, but i Doubt it. Mostly I don't want my truck to look like every other stroker in Utah...... Then I'll plan on a AFE 7 layer filter (open box type). That'll be the engine mods for until the warranty is over. Until then I'll live with the sub par power (compared to what it could be) and the crap economy (compared to what is should be).

The Torq2 and the MP-8 are both non traceable fuel curve modifiers from Innovative Diesel. I've got the Torq2 and it's worth the $400. A lot more power plus a nice little 2-4 mpg increase. It's not traceable because it doesn't have any affect on the ECM. It plugs directly into the fuel rail sensor and creates it's own fuel throttle curve and sends the stock signal back to the computer. I've heard of a lot of people trying to get some sound out of their truck with the filter back exhausts, but none of them make any difference. You HAVE to get rid of of you DOC and DPF if you want to make noise, you can even leave the muffler in if you take the other crap out. I'm happy with mine with the Torq2 until the warranty is out.

When I say sub par economy, think of what this truck would get with No EGR, No Re-gen, No DEF, no DPF, then add on a straight through exhaust system and a great tuner with a better flowing air intake system.......... |

I had read here that the Torq2 had some issues with towing? It falling on it's face unless it is turned all the way down? 75% of my truck's use is towing. I wonder if the MP-8 has same issue? I am not real clear on this but to do the DPF delete you have to use a programmer correct? Which means dealer can void warranty right away if they choose? I am just so worried about my warranty after my last Powerstroke. That 6.0 was nothing but a headache. Once that warranty ran out it was costing me 7-10k a year in upgrade repairs to keep it running. I bought the new truck mostly for the warranty! My 6.0 honestly spent more time down at the dealer then driving down the road, pretty bad. I am even pretty content with the power for now, its still too new to tow quite yet but it gets it pretty well empty. I mainly want it loud, I hate driving a big diesel truck sounding like a honda ![]() Thanks again for everyones help |

I did have some problems with the Torq2 initially. Had to turn it down to 50% and had no more problems. I towed my 16k 5er the other day with it set like that and had no problems. You've still got considerably more power over stock and my mpg hasn't been effected with turning it down.

Gonna agree, will have to check into the torq2, otherwise wait and see what some of the brains at the tunner places come up with. Really would like to find a way to make this thing louder without giving up my warranty.... Ohh how I miss the old days, straight pipe your diesel or throw a flowmaster on your gas and your down the road happy
