Cold air intake ?

I looking to buy an intake and keep hearing different stories. I'm told not to buy one that is oiled because the turbo is SO POWERFUL that it sucks up the oil and f**ks things up. Also if I buy an intake I need to upgrade the exhuast and delete some stuff. I'm not really interested in deleteing anything but the factory intake. Any info and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

i use the AFE stage II dry flow and it works beautiful.

it is true that oiled filters can gum up the map sensor but usually due to people over oiling them.

you don't "need" to delete anything else . you can have the CAI by itself with no issues.

That's correct.most performance shops have them

Also do you hear the turbo more with it. My wife just installed a ipd air management system in her volvo s60r and that thing screams turbo. I would love to hear it winding up in my truck.

I have the AFE Stage II Pro Dry and you can hear the turbo more under acceleration. If you accelerate slow its almost all turbo sound on my truck which sounds awesome and if you floor it the intake screams like a supercharger. Also the intake makes a different noise when you drive normal, I dont want to say its a drone because it isnt a bad sound. The noise or "drone" that it makes sounds good in my opinion. Another plus is if your in park with the front passenger window down you can hear the turbo spool while idling which I didnt have happen before. Last if you punch it then let off the intake makes a suction noise because the intake is sealed to the hood. What causes this is the cushion inbetween the intake housing and the hood, but nothing bad happens from this.

What intake do you have in your truck? nevermind. I should read a little more next time.
