EGR Block Off plate concerns and question

My buddy has a 6.7 that he is getting ready to tune and I was wondering about the EGR block off plates. I know that on my 6.4 the block off plates actually hurt the motor more than they help because of the built up back pressure they create by not having the egr as a suto wastegate. Do the 6.7's have this same issue?

2015 F350 Ruby Red Platinum, SRW CCLB, Color matched Ranchhands, rigids.
