Push Button Start- Has anyone tried it?

StarDrive - Push Button Ignition System

I recently purchased a BMW that has a system like this installed from the factory, works great! Has anyone ever put a aftermarket system on their truck? If so how do you like it? Or at least a keyless entry system as described?

If it came with one so be it but turning the key is fine with me. My wife's volvo has the push button start and the key just needs to be in the vehicle and nit in the dash in an outlet etc. Pretty crazy.

local stereo shop wanted to install one in my truck for free. It would be tied into the viper alarm i have. it would have to be unlocked via the remote, then the button is tied into the ignition system since the remote start can bypass the ignition anyways, they said it would be pretty simple.

Talked to stardrive this morning, said it's a pretty simple install. I'm not going to get the push start side of it just the keyless entry part. I hate having to dig around for the key since they adhered the fob to it.

I'm confused (but that happens often), why get the keyless entry if you still have to dig the key out to start?

Wouldn't that make it easier for theft? Windows aren't that hard to break. Plus you have a Lariat, so don't you have a keypad on the door?

Yeah I tape the key to the windshield so everyone can see it. Or it is usually in the ignition and running. I'm in and out of my truck more then most people just think it would be would be pretty handy.

I'm not saying someone is going to see the key but there's always a possibility that someone could break into your truck just looking to take something easy and then they open up the console and see the key sitting in there. Bam, they've hit the jackpot. I think that keyless start system is neat but I don't think I would want to just leave the key in the truck. You could get something like this
Amazon.com: Heavy Duty Security Belt Clip Key-ID-Badge-Chain: Sports & Outdoors Amazon.com: Heavy Duty Security Belt Clip Key-ID-Badge-Chain: Sports & Outdoors
and leave your truck key on your belt instead of buried in your pocket.
